FHE Fun
We had a blast this week for FHE! On Saturday we went to the Voytko Berry farm and picked blue berries (so awesome) Then for our activity on Monday we made a pie! YUMMY! Ammon took to baking quite well, he had a blast pouring ingredients and rolling out the crust, and of course sneeking blue berries when I wasn't looking. Luke was great moral support from the couch and Jimmy pulled the crust together! What a blast!

The Story Behind The Name
We've been getting alot of questions on where Luke's name came from. So I thought I'd write a little explanation. First of all, because I know he cares, Luke was originally suggested by Nick my step brother. We had been flipping through the index in the scriptures looking at names and Jim was joking about naming him some star wars name like Darth Vader or something and then Nick came up with Luke, so it went on the maybe list. The more we thought about the name the more we liked it. First of all Messegee is of Greek origin which is cool and we like our names to have special meaning, whether its a hero or a person we admire or directly connected to our place in life. Luke fell under the last category. In the scriptures, Luke is a disciple of Christ. He was Greek and his profession was as a physician or doctor. We thought that this was very fitting seeing that Messegee is Greek and Jimmy would be starting med school about the same time Luke was born. So, going with this theme we started our hunt for a middle name. Javan (pronounced Javen) is the ancient Hebrew word for someone who is Greek. So, there you go. LOL I know it's kinda silly, there are alot of Greek parts to his name and his dad's new profession but it just seemed fitting and if you could look at him now, you would see his is definitely a Luke! Also, he'll always have a fun explination for a somewhat common name.

short, but crazy, update
Well if you're ever feeling sorry for yourself and need a reason to snap out of it, give me a call, it could always be worse! lol So anyway, we've had a very crazy week! We just got home from the hospital (no, not for baby) today after a very interesting weekend. Wednesday morning I noticed that the heel of my foot was inflamed and was hurting really bad (but not itching), by that evening both feet were the same as well as my left hand. In a matter of a few day's my whole body (well, anywhere that I put pressure) was covered with these bazaar painful lesions and I was getting worse. So we helped ourselves to labor and delivery to see what might be going on. We officially baffled 7 OBGYNs two teams of ENT surgeons and almost stumped one very bubbly dermatologist! It turns out that I have a rare form of a rare form of a rare dermatological disorder! I always knew I was special. It's called (in case you're interested) pressure induced acute Urticaria brought on by pregnancy. How's that for fancy! Pretty much, I'm one in a million, so much that all of the OB's I'd seen had never even heard of it! So I get a crazy rash, Jimmy and the dermatologist get to write a paper to publish in two disciplines, an I won't get better till the baby is born, so we may get to see he sweet face sooner then later! We're all fine, it's totally non-threatening to the baby, just very painful. I'm stuck in bed rotating like a pig on a spit till the baby is born but all in all, in good spirits. Especially since they thought this might be something really scary like an autoimmune disease or some other very scary dermatological disorder. So I know alot of people have heard already, and alot haven't. I'm really sorry that we can't call everyone personally to tell them. My hands and ears are covered with this craziness so talking on the phone is very painful. Feel free to email if you have to know first hand that I'm ok, typing doesn't seem to bother me yet! Love you all, thanks for your prayers, and we will definitely let you all know when it's Baby time!! And if you're really curious, email and we'll send pics! Love ya!

Wow...it really has been almost a month!
I'll explain, first of all; my Jimmy came home!!! Thus I have been VERY distracted. As much as I hate to say it, the blog has not been a priority. Second of all; I am now 9 months pregnant and sitting at the computer is very VERY uncomfortable. You're in luck today however because I cannot sleep and it is still dark out. (blah!) Anywho, life has been wonderful with Jim home. School has already started and he is loving it. On July 13th he received his white coat (which was very cool) and it was Ammon's 2nd B-day!!! Jim's mom came into town for the weekend and we had a total blast!!!

Aren't they cute! As far as My life goes I'm just waiting. (don't you just LOVE that part?) I'm feeling really good and healthy, alot better then last time and the best part is I weigh about 7 pounds less this time around! Wooohooo! I've just gotten to the impatient stage. I think I nested last night though (mainly because I cleaned the whole house in about an hour when I usually don't do more then just sit on the couch these days) So hopefully that's a good sign. I'm also a little dilated and alot effaced so, we're keeping our fingers crossed! Wish us luck!! We'll (meaning I) will try to keep you better informed on any further progress. Sorry it took so long. Love ya!!

One for the team
Well we had a bit of a gruesome day today. Yeah toddlers are GREAT fun. Meagan has been very sweet taking Ammon for about an hour walk each morning so that I can either rest or shower or do whatever else is hard to do with a two year old running around. This morning, it was the rest that I needed so off they went and I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow. The next thing I knew Meagan was knocking on my bedroom door asking for my help cause Ammon fell. I though he just needed some help calming down. So, rather dazed, I stumbled out of my room only to be faced with absolute carnage! Hello, I'm awake! Ammon had decided to be superman today and push (with a running start) the stroller down our concrete steps off the porch. His face broke his fall and nothing was broken but boy was he something to look at. After getting him cleaned up (which was alot harder then I thought it would be) we snuggled on the couch and by this evening he was starting to look a little better. Holy heart attack though! Poor Meagan felt terrible but you can't keep them from every fall, as careful as you are, they'll still find a way to get hurt. I only hope this teaches him a little more caution in the future. I sure was glad Meagan was here though. I was really calm through the whole thing, I think I might have lost it if I were by myself. I'm also glad I didn't see him fall. I don't think this overly sensitive pregnant lady could handle that! YIKES! Anyway, he is doing fine, after his nap he was back to his normal cheerful self. I think we may be more traumatized then he was! That's kids for ya!

Just after the fall

Tonight right before bed. He looked much better once the swelling went down. Poor guy!

Fluffy Goodness
So this is our most recent creation. We tried a new cake recipe (which we're still not thrilled with) and new frosting and filling (that we totally love!!) So it is a white cake with lemon filling and Fluffy white frosting. Isn't it pretty?

Ohio makes me cry...
It's true, well not the actual state but their little program called medicaid. I have spent the last three days on the phone (or in the car, or online) trying desperately for someone to agree with what someone else had told me or even just talk to the right office so that my eight month pregnant self can get insurance! I have been transferred, put on hold, given a different number to call, hung up on, told to apply for one thing only for the next person (who they transferred me to) to tell me that it doesn't exist, I've been Lectured to about my irresponsibility for moving to a new state in my 3rd trimester and badly beaten and abused. So today (day number 3) I finally lost it. I cried, I've never cried on the phone like that! (I think I really freaked the operator I was talking to out) However, in some twisted sort of way, I was actually connected (eventually) to someone who knew what they were talking about! It's a little strange and probably completely cruel but the water works worked. *Sigh* who doesn't love bureaucracy? I just hate that I was pushed that far. I cannot tell you how many people were completely rude with me on the phone because I was talking to the "wrong" person. Yikes, I'm sorry, some other person who had no clue transferred me to you! Please forgive my ignorance. Anyway, long story short, if you EVER find yourself in my situation don't let it go to tears, I've kept ALL the numbers, I'll send you to the only nice, competent person I've spoken with, I'm sure she'll take care of you! Good Grief!
